About the Volkswagen Tiguan

Sporting a name that’s a combination of Tiger and Iguana, the Volkswagen Tiguan was first launched internationally in 2007.

Now a mainstay of the mid-size SUV class, the Tiguan is also one of the VW Group’s most popular models.

This generation of Tiguan arrived back in 2016 but it was treated to a mid-life facelift in 2021 to keep it feeling fresh.

Every version is powered by a 2.0-litre engine (either petrol or diesel) and is all-wheel drive, except for the entry-level 110TSI which has a 1.4-litre petrol engine and only powers the front axle.

The Tiguan is available with five seats as standard, however there is a longer 7-seat ‘Allspace’ version if you require more space.

The Tiguan is covered by a 5-year/unlimited km warranty and all versions sold in Australia are made in Germany.

Volkswagen Tiguan rivals include the Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, Peugeot 3008, and Toyota RAV4.
